Situated in the heart of the Cayo District of Belize, MET is a gateway to hidden waterfalls, lush jungle valleys, captivating caves, and the stunning Mountain Pine Ridge. Every horseback ride you take with MET directly contribute to our conservation efforts within our own property and surrounding areas. MET remains fully off-the-grid, proudly utilizing renewable energy sources such as solar power, hydro and natural gas. We hope to continue and grow these sustainable practices for generations to come. Come explore the wonders of nature while bonding with your trusty steed.
Saddle up for adventure! Our experienced horse guides will lead you every step of the way. As we lead you through these sacred paths, you become a steward of this sanctuary, contributing to the preservation of a vital wildlife corridor. In addition to helping you spot wildlife, our guide will share ancient cultural traditions of Belize and uses of the numerous medicinal plants featured along the way.
Bring your Binoculars! Not a Horseback Rider? If birding is your interest, a quick walk around MET’s grounds will reveal 100s of resident species. Our last bird count revealed over 200 within a 24 hour period. Some of our favorites are the Keel Bill toucans, Black Hawk-Eagle, Grey-Headed kite, Laughing falcon, Emerald toucanet, Collared aracari, Violet saberwing and many more.
A Sanctuary of Biodiversity: Our journey takes place within the embrace of our off-grid horse ranch and private nature preserve, a testament to our commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism. MET’s private nature preserve has become a safe haven for an array of species, including families of howler monkeys whose calls echo through the trees.

Belize Horse Breeding
Over the years, we have implemented a breeding program to produce medium-sized horses that are light on their feet and have mastered the sometimes tricky, rugged trails featured on our rides. Our bloodline includes a good mix of locally-born quarter horses with the smaller Spanish barb horses.

Our guided horseback riding tours are led by knowledgable and seasoned guides who reveal the stories of the land, the secrets of the caves, and the wonders of the diverse ecosystem.
Sustainable Tourism
It’s our goal to offer a top quality tours for a select few at a time. We prefer to take smaller groups in order to provide an authentic and meaningful experience, while educating about the importance of saving Belize’s precious resources for generations to come.
